Have you ever thought of learning sign languange? Well, guess what,  there’s a sign language class here at TMS!
This amazing class is taught by Mrs.Kimberly. She said she learned sign languange when she met a deaf woman,
who not only became a friend, but who soon became her teacher. We have this class, because there are Deaf Communities all around us. This will be very helpful for not only TMS but all the other people around the world! The Deaf should beable to live like we do! That’s why it’s such a good reason for us to learn sign languange. The students here at TMS learned increadably fast picking up the signs very quickly, probably because they put their hearts into it. The students like to see who can learn the most signs the fastest.  There’s nothing better then a little friendly competition!
The cool and fast ways they are learning this language is by using computer based research! They learn songs, stories and much more! She also states that they love to perform for the class. (“Maybe you can find a friend that takes the class and ask them to show you!”):) This is such a uniqe language, because most people think that they’ll never need to know it. Honestly, thats not true! We need to be able to communicate with all people to let them feel like they aren’t different.  How whould you feel if you were treated different? They really aren’t that different at all, once you learn their language you’ll find out they are just like you and me!

Fun With Atoms !!!! :D
This year in Mrs.Bell’s Science Class, her 8th graders participated in a interesting and fun project. They got to make 3-D models of atoms they chose in class. To find out what they had to know in order to make their projects, I asked a couple of my fellow classmates to tell me what they thought of the project. Here are some things I learned. Students said they had to know pretty much everything about atoms to make a good grade .They said the project helped them understand atoms more than they already did because they got to do hands on work. Some of the major things they had to know were the history and uses of the atom also how their atom looked in 3-D. All the students had a great time doing this project and said they would be happy to do it again in the future.
I also asked Mrs. Bell how she had come up with the idea of making 3-D models of atoms she responded that she had seen the project and thought it would be interesting to do it with her class. Mrs . Bell liked the project because her students had to know everything about their atom to build the project. She said the project was something new because she never really sends work to do at home. The students did great in their projects and Mrs. Bell said she would be happy to do the project again in the upcoming years.
Good job 8th graders!

Speech In Life
“Have you ever wondered how life will be without Speech ?” Speech is really important in life because it is the ability to express one’s thoughts, emotions , and feelings. Wich will help people communicate with each other without this we will probably never understand what everyone is trying to do for our world . Speech has already become an extracurricular class for students in schools. Our students here in Tatum are really interesting in speech by helping them do better in school .  Coach Smith , which is a  speech teacher, coach , and student council co-sponsor said  “Speech will help the students improve by  helping  and encourage them to speak in front of others.” Josh Ivy , one of our speech students says, “Speech could help me someday in the future because one day I will have to stand and give a speech to a crowd full of people.” The reason we have a Speech class is to allow students to come out of their shells and exit their shy stage. Speech also gives them the opportunity to be creative. We will like for our  speech students to be a great role model for students of different ages, this will help our community be a better .  “Everyone has their own special gift. In some it is speech, in some, silence. The world has need of small perfection as well as great achievements.”       Speech helps everyone no matter who they are.
