Mrs. Whiddon Interview ~ Bailey Skinner
Mrs. Whiddon has worked at Tatum for 16 years and hopefully more. Mrs. Whiddon has not always been a librarian. She taught 6th grade reading for 13 years before she decided to become a librarian. So this is her 3rd year as a librarian. She says that being a librarian is a lot of responsibility because she is always staying busy making sure that the needs of her students and teachers are being met. She has learned a lot about technology by finding ways to intergrate it into the curriculum. However, most of the stuff she has learned was self-taught, she also holds her masters degree.   While working on her masters she took a  webdesign class as well as many other courses that help her with her new career as librarian.  During her spare time, she loves to spend time with her family. She has a son in second grade named Mason and her husband, Mike, is in pharmaceutical sales.
She said that if she could have any other job in the world, she would still want to be a librarian. When she was a little girl, she always wanted to become a teacher and now she taken it a step further.  Looks like she succeeded in reaching her goals. If she could have anything in the world it would probably be peace and happiness for everyone, but she would like to have another home in a place that has cooler weather  (Texas heat doesn’t agree with her). . Keep up the good work!

Getting to Know Coach Parker
Coach Parker teaches 7th grade Social Studies and 8th grade girl’s athletics. She enjoys teaching because it’s a great age to still have an impact on decisions that students have to make. Her favorite subject in school was history because it has always fascinated her to learn about the past and as we see now she is a wonderful history teacher. She loves playing softball, but also likes to watch all sports except for golf!! Even though she became a coach and a teacher she didn’t always have that in mind. In fact Coach Parker wanted to be a lawyer because her parents always told her she could argue with a brick wall. Although she loves physical education in her spare time she is sleeping, watching movies, spending time with family, and did I mention SLEEPING!!! Also you may see her chowing down on chips and salsa, it’s her favorite food.  Her best friend is of course her husband Phillip (aka Dr. Phil) because he is most trusting person in her life.   Her favorite color is purple and she has two dogs named Skip and Rusty.  Coach Parker is a great woman, teacher, coach, and person. She is most defini
tely a role model for all young girls. Â I recommend that we all take time and say thank you to her for all that she does. Â THANK YOU COACH PARKER!!!
